Your computer must satisfy these minimum hardware requirements.
If you will be working on a PC, you need at least the following:
256 MB or more of RAM Windows 2000 or newer; or Linx 2.4.26/2.6 or newer DSL or Cable Modem recommended, 56 Kbs dial-up modem will work Firefox/Mozilla and Explorer browsers (both recommended, APU can direct you to free installations of the Firefox browser)
If you will be working on a Mac, you need the following:
256 MB or more of RAM OS 10.1 or higher DSL or Cable Modem recommended, 56 Kbs dial-up modem will work Camino/Mozilla, Mozilla and Safari browsers (APU can direct you to free installations of the Mozilla browsers)
If you will be using a computer at work
You will need to ask your Network Administrator for permission to use the computer for coursework and weekly chats. Some of our communications programs require software to be downloaded to your computer; these will definitely need permission from the Network Administrator.
When it comes to technology and online courses, a key to success is your ability and willingness to problem-solve!
There will always be technological issues facing you, so you can't give up...you have to be creative and persistent, looking for ways to make the computer do what you need it to do.
And don't be afraid to ask for help. You can talk with friends, co-workers, or RANA and APU staff to help you meet a technological challenge.
