Our world is changing at a rapid pace.  Human service organizations keep people and communities mobilized - thinking, talking, and planning for positive action!

The responsibilities of human services professionals are incredibly varied, including:
•  direct care services
•  advocacy services
•  individual and group counseling
•  referral services
•  education, prevention, and treatment
    services

Earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services

Degree Requirements for BA in Human Services

The Human Services major is coordinated with the Degree Completion Program and housed within the Department of Counseling Psychology and Human Services.

The program is ideal for individuals who are already working or volunteering in human services capacities, or who would like to be.  It meets the needs of aspiring professionals who want to strengthen their communities by developing service skills in areas such as care coordination, group process, counseling, and rehabilitation.

The B.A. degree is comprised of:

     •  General University Requirements (GURs)
     •  Major courses specifically focused on competencies in human services 
     •  Electives
     •  A minimum of 128 credits

Students can earn the BA online while living and working in any Alaskan community.
